2008 Class Rules

Super Late Model

  1. BODY: DIRT/LUCAS/SAS rules apply.
  2. ENGINE & WEIGHT OPTIONS: Weight is with driver anytime. No weight adjustment devices allowed inside car.
    1. Open Motor: 2300 lbs.
    2. SAS/SUPR Legal Spec Motor: 2200 lbs.
    3. All steel motor: No minimum weight.
  3. ENGINE SPECIFICATIONS:
    1. Open Engine: unlimited cubic inch with aluminum heads and aluminum block.
    2. SUPR SPEC Engine:
      1. Minimum 350 cid - maximum 362 using steel block. Maximum bore size is 4.060. Flat top pistons only. Bore-stroke combinations to achieve this: 3.480 or 3.500 on Chevrolet and 3.500 on Ford. Steel block for Chevrolet will have 9 inch deck and steel block for Ford will have 9.2 inch deck. Brodix SUPR spec heads (with 60cc minimum combustion chambers). Chevrolet engines must have a Brodix HVI intake with no modifications except for port matching 3/4" to FelPro 1206. Ford engines must have an Edelbrock Victor Jr. intake with no modifications except for port matching 3/4" to FelPro 1262.
      2. No lightening of blocks. If found, a 25 lb. weight penalty will be assessed in front of the motor plate.
      3. Intake port opening no larger than original opening and may be port matched. Chevrolet may use a FelPro 1206 gasket and Ford may use a FelPRO 1262.
      4. Chevrolet intake opening may be ground or polished 3/4" no farther into port than the closest edge of the closest letter of the SUPR logo. Ford intake opening may be ground or polished 3/8". Intake port polishing will be allowed no more than 1 1/2" below the bottom of the original seat ring on the back side of the bowl area and no more than 1" on the short side. Any opening up of the head past these points will be illegal.
      5. Polishing will be allowed in the combustion chamber area to avoid hot spot chafing.
      6. Polishing will be allowed in exhaust ports as long as the original SUPR logo is not effected and port shape remains unaltered.
      7. No intake or exhaust port relocation, raising, enlargement, or reshaping of any type.
      8. Valve angle and placement may not be altered in any way on the SUPR SPEC head. SUPR heads require 11/32 inch valves. NO EXCEPTIONS - NO TITANIUM.
      9. Identification: SUPR SPEC heads with SUPR cast logos:
        1. Chevrolet SUPR SPEC heads with SUPR cast logos.
        2. Ford: SUPR SPEC head with SUPR logo on the outside and SPEC logo on intake and exhaust ports.
    3. SAS SPEC Engine:
      1. 362 cubic inches maximum. Titanium valves, any camshaft, any piston, steel block.
      2. Any intake.
      3. All SPEC heads will be supplied with CNC bowl blend and intake port matching.
      4. No grinding or blending of CNC work is allowed.
      5. No grinding or polishing of any kind is allowed anywhere on the castings.
      6. No use of any substance that may change or alter the shape or size of ports or combustion chambers is allowed.
      7. A maximum valve size of 2.080 intake and 1.600 exhaust will be allowed for all spec heads.
      8. Valve seats and guides are to remain as manufactured and in their cast positions.
      9. Valve angles are to remain as manufactured. the original seat center locations as provided by the head manufacturer may not be altered.
      10. No tapering or re-shaping of valve guides will be allowed.
      11. Minimum valve stem diameter is 11/32 inch.
      12. Spec cylinder head serial numbers must remain on the head and may not be defaced or altered.
      13. No welding or modifications are allowed to the original head castings.
    4. STEEL ENGINE SPECS:
      1. .060 over bore max on 350 or 351 or 360 Chrysler.
      2. All steel engine.
      3. Flat top pistons.
      4. Any camshaft.
      5. Any crank with stock stroke for engine.
      6. Any rod.
      7. Heads: steel only, stock valve angle, no porting or polishing of any kind, 3 angle valve job permitted.
      8. Any intake.
  4. SPOILERS: No adjustable rear spoilers.
    1. Open Motor – 8 inch spoiler
    2. Spec Motor – 12 inch spoiler
    3. All Steel Motor – 14 inch spoiler
  5. TIRES: Front tires are open. Rear tires must stick 60 hardness or higher on track’s durometer.
  6. FUEL SYSTEM: One four barrel carburetor. Gas or alcohol.
  7. Wet or dry sump oiling.
  8. Any ignition.
  9. ENGINE SETBACK: Six inches from center of ball joint to most forward spark plug for all cars.
  10. REAR END: Any type permitted.
  11. No mirrors or radios.
  12. No traction control devices.
  13. Mufflers are required. 100 decibels at 100 feet.
  14. Anything not covered must have official approval.

 

 

2 Barrel Late Model

 

  1. All body, suspension, and tire rules will be the same as Super Late Model. 12" maximum spoiler.
  2. Carburetor. 4412 Holley carburetor with only the choke flap and linkage removed. Carburetor may have jets, power valve, pump or pump cam changed only. Stock metering blocks required. Carburetor spacer or adapter will be a maximum of 1” between carburetor and intake. Carburetor must pass GO, NO-GO gauge.
  3. Engine. Must have steel heads and block.  No dry sumps allowed.
  4. Weight. 2350 lbs. anytime.
  5. No mirrors or radios.
  6. Any transmission.
  7. Fuel: Gasoline only.
  8. No electronic traction control devices.
  9. Mufflers or a similar type of exhaust sound muffling device is required. 100 decibels @ 100 feet.
  10. Anything not covered must have official approval.

 

Crate Late Model 

  1. Engine.

    1. GM part number 88958602 and GM part number 88958604.

    2. These engines are sealed at the intake manifold, cylinder head, front cover, and oil pan with special twist off bolt heads. Crate engines must not be altered, modified or changed from factory specs.

    3. The sealed engines must remain intact and not be tampered with; any seals that have been removed or tampered with will make the engine illegal and not eligible for competition. The penalty for anyone tampering with seals, modifying any internal engine parts, changing the parts from stock as delivered sealed from the factory will be subject to expulsion from racing at Winchester Speedway for:

      1. First offense - forfeiture of points and money and expulsion from racing for two consecutive weeks.

      2. Second offense - forfeiture of points and money and expulsion from racing for remainder of current season.

    4. No changes are allowed to the engine - intake manifold, heads, valve covers, front cover, oil pan, harmonic balancer or any other part/or parts on/or in engine.

    5. No vacuum pumps.

    6. All crate engines must remain stock as they came sealed from the factory.

  2. Engine Setback Rule. Engine setback will be 6" from center of top ball joint to the most forward spark plug on the Jig-frame car with one inch tolerance on engine setback. There will be a 50 pound penalty forward of the motor plate for each 1/2 inch of set back beyond seven inches of engine setback, and up to a 100 pound penalty. No cars with more than a one inch engine setback will be allowed to compete.

  3. Carburetor.

    1. One four barrel carburetor only of any manufacture.

    2. Engine must be naturally aspirated.

    3. May use one carburetor spacer (one inch, one piece with .040 tolerance maximum) and two standard paper gaskets (maximum .070 inch thick), one gasket between intake to spacer and one gasket between spacer to carburetor.

  4. Distributor. Any ignition with the exception of magnetos. No magnetos.

  5. Starter Rule. All cars must have starter in working order.

  6. Water Pump Rule. Cast or aluminum permitted. No electric water pump.

  7. Exhaust.

    1. Collector type headers required. Must have four tubes into one collector of a consistent diameter.

    2. Mufflers or a similar type of exhaust sound muffling device is required. 100 decibels @100 feet.

    3. No tri-Y headers or merged headers allowed.

  8. Fuel Cell.

    1. An approved fuel cell (32 gallon maximum) must be securely mounted in the trunk area of the car, inside a .20 gauge metal box supported by a minimum of two 2" by 1/8" steel straps.

    2. All fuel cells must be completely visible from rear of car.

    3. Gas only. No alcohol. No nitrous oxide, nitro methane or other nitrate additives or propylene oxide.

    4. Mechanical pump only. No electric pump.

  9. Body.

    1. UDTRA body rule will apply.

    2. Spoiler size maximum 12".

    3. Spoilers must be made of a transparent material (such as lexan), sheet aluminum, or materials of equal strength.

    4. No mirrors.

    5. No radios.

  10. Frame.

    1. All frames must be of steel construction.

    2. Square or rectangular frame must have a minimum of 2" by 2" material, .083" wall thicknesses.

    3. Round tube frame, tubing must have a minimum of 1-3/4" outside diameter, .083" wall thicknesses.

  11. Wheelbase. Minimum wheelbase will be 103"

  12. Roll Cage.

    1. All cars must have a suitable steel roll cage protecting the driver's compartment, including headrest.

    2. Side rollbars are mandatory and must extend into the door panels. A minimum of three bars must be on the left side.

    3. Each bar must be at least 1-1/2" diameter with a minimum material thickness of .083".

    4. Roll cages must be welded to frame.

  13. Transmission.

    1. Must have at least one forward and one reverse gear in working order.

    2. No straight drives or in and out boxes.

    3. Drive shafts must be painted white - carbon fiber drive shafts are legal.

  14. Wheels. Any brand or type of wheel allowed; must be mounted with lug nuts. No knock-off or center lock wheels. Maximum wheel width - 14".

  15. Tires. Front tires are open. Rear tires must stick 60 on track durometer.

  16. Weight Rule.

    1. GM Crate engine #88958602 - 2200 lbs at all times with driver.

    2. GM Crate engine #88958604 - 2350 lbs at all times with driver.

  17. Protest Procedures.

    1. The protest fee for a complete tear down on a car that finishes the feature race is $1,000 and the fee must be paid to the track owner or a representative in his absence. Payment must be in cash, within 10 minutes after the checkered flag has fallen on the feature race.

    2. The protest fee to pull the intake, one head, and the oil pan to check bore and stroke and head is $600.

    3. The only personnel permitted to file a protest are a driver or car owner of a car that has started feature race and finished in the top 10 and on the lead lap.

    4. Once the protest fee has been paid, the protested car with driver and owner will move to the tech shed along with the protesting driver and his car. The engine will be pulled and will be moved to a certified Crate Engine rebuilder along with before mentioned parties. Track retains $100 for each protest fee.

    5. Only three people from the protested car and three people from the team protesting will be allowed in the tech area during a protest.

    6. Failure and/or refusal to tear down an engine and/or for your race car to be inspected by track officials will result in suspension for the remainder of the current season and forfeiture of all points for the season.

     

 

Open Wheel Modified - Winchester Speedway will run under the SMP rules in 2008.

 

  1. SAFETY EQUIPMENT. Rules apply at all times car is on track. Snell rated SA95 or SA2000 or SA2005 helmet required. Roll bar padding required in driver compartment (fire retardant recommended). SFI approved full fire suit required. Fire retardant neck brace, gloves, and shoes required. Recommeded: Fire retardant head sock and underwear; head and neck restraints; collapsible steering shaft. Driver side window net required, minimum 16"x20" ribbon or mesh style and must be mounted so latch is at top front of window. Minimum three inch wide five point safety belt assembly required (Y-type shoulder harness not allowed), must be mounted securely to roll cage, recommended to be no more than one year old. Kill switch required within easy reach of driver and must be clearly marked 'OFF' and 'ON'.

  2. FRAME. 1964 or newer OEM perimeter American rear wheel drive passenger car frame only. No sports car frames. Frame must be full and complete, cannot be widened or narrowed, and must be able to support roll cage on both sides. Exceptions are: weight jack in original center line of spring tower allowed; frame may be cut a maximum 36 inches forward from center of rear end housing; horns may be removed in front of steering box; front crossmember may be notched and boxed for radiator and/or steering clearance; maximum seven inch wide opening in side of spring tower for spring removal. Maximum two inch wide by four inch tall frame stiffener may be welded directly to outside of left side frame rail. Minimum wheelbase 108 inches, maximum 112 inches, both sides must be the same. Maximum overall width (front or rear) shall not exceed 78 inches from outside of tire to outside of tire. No part of frame can be lower than four inches from ground except front crossmember.

  3. ROLL Cage. Must consist of continuous hoops, minimum 1.75 inch O.D. tubing, with a minimum wall thickness of .095 inch for main cage, frame mounted in at least six places, low carbon or mild steel recommended. Must consist of a configuration of front, rear, and top hoops connected by tubing on sides or side hoops. Driver's head must not protrude outside cage with helmet on. Roll cage must be securely supported and braced with minimum one cross bar in top halo. Foot protection bar required. Main cage no further forward than rear of engine. All bars forward of cage must be lower than hood.

  4. DOOR BARS. All driver side door bars and uprights must be minimum 1.5 inch O.D. and .083 inch wall thickness. Minimum three driver side door bars, parallel to ground and perpendicular to driver, and welded to front and rear of roll cage. Passenger side must have at least one cross door bar, horizontal or angled, minimum 1.25 inch O.D. and .083 inch wall thickness, and one top door bar, minimum 1.5 inch O.D. and .083 inch wall thickness. Steel door plate, 18 gauge or .049 inch minimum thickness, must be securely welded to outside of driver side door bars and cover area from top door bar to bottom door bar and from rear hoop down-post to five inches in front of seat. Must be visible for inspection.

  5. BODY. Must be same width, front to rear, and parallel to OEM frame. Engine compartment must remain open (no side panels). Hood must be enclosed at rear. No panel in front of right door to engine compartment. No inner panels. No car covers. Must have front windshield and rear window support posts. Driver and passenger side windows must have at least 12 inch opening (height and width), measured at center of window, between lowest point at top of window, whether roof or roll cage, and highest point at bottom of window, whether interior or body. May use Lexan in sail panels. May use full windshield. Must be fiberglass full size roof, rounded down in all directions. No wings or spoilers. Maximum four inch plastic skirting allowed on bottom of doors and quarters. No reflective doors or quarter panels. Outside of tires must be widest part of car.

  6. DRIVER COMPARTMENT. Must have minimum three windshield bars in front of driver. Lexan or aluminum cowl panel in front of driver can be no wider than cockpit and no farther back than steering wheel. Minimum .125 aluminum, or .060 inch steel, complete floor pan required. Aluminum high-back seat only and must be bolted in, using minimum 0.375 inch bolts, next to left side frame rail and ahead of rear tires. Bottom of seat can be no lower than bottom of frame rail. Driver must be sealed off from track, driveline, engine, fuel cell, cannisters and pumps. Oil coolers must not protrude above interior. Accumulators cannot be wheel any narrower than 8 inches and no wider than 8.75 inches. Must use only steel bolts.

  7. FRONT SUSPENSION. All components must be steel, unaltered OEM, in OEM location, and replaceable by OEM parts, exceptions are: tube-type upper A-Frames with or without aluminum or steel cross shaft, and mounts can be moved; stamped steel OEM replacement lower A-frames; rubber, nylon or steel lower A-Frame bushings, no offset or bearing type; welded or bolted shock mount on lower A-Frame. Lower A-Frames must be right and left, and of same design. Lower A-Frame mounts and bolt holes on frame must be in OEM location. OEM ball joints only. Sway bar must be unaltered OEM.

  8. STEERING. No rack and pinion. All components must be steel, unaltered OEM, in OEM location, exceptions are: outer tie rod end and adjustment sleeve may be replaced by a minimum .625 inch steel rod end and steel tube; spindles can be ground for brake caliper clearance only; unaltered, OEM replacement Pinto spindles with raised cast; bolt on spindle savers allowed; steel steering shafts and knuckles only; steering quickener, steering wheel and quick release may be aluminum; driver compartment steering may be modified, must be kept on left side. Spindles must be right and left, and of same design. Idler arm, pitman arm, and center link must match frame.

  9. SHOCKS. One Steel bodied shock per wheel. No external adjustments allowed.

  10. SPRINGS. One steel, non-progressive coil spring per wheel only. Steel or composite leaf spring allowed. One additional spring allowed on pull bar or lift bar, may be progressive. Any coil spring must be at least 4.5 inches O.D. No torsion bars or air bags.

  11. REAR SUSPENSION. No independent rear suspension. All components must be steel. No covers allowed. All trailing arms/link bars must be solid tubing. Rear of frame may be altered to accept leaf or coil springs. Steel coil-over eliminators, or steel or aluminum coil-over kits allowed - must conform to shock and spring rules. One mechanical traction bar (pull or lift, not both). Rubber bumpers allowed only on panhard bar and mechanical traction bar. No sway bar.

  12. REAR END. Any steel approved OEM passenger car or truck rear end (housing and carrier) allowed. Safety hubs (floater) allowed. All components must be steel, except lowering blocks, axle cap, drive flange. Inspection hole required in housing. Full steel spool, steel mini spool or welded rear ends only. Steel axles only. No cambered rear ends. One piece drive flange only. No torque dividing differentials. No scalloped ring gears. Quick change is optional: Steel tubes, hubs, and birdcages only!

  13. BUMPERS. Steel bumpers must be on front and rear at all times and welded, or mounted with minimum .375 inch bolts. Must be minimum 1.25 inch O.D. tubing, .065 inch wall thickness on front, .095 inch wall thickness on rear. Two-bar front bumpers must be mounted frame-end to frame-end, no wider than width of material outside frame horns and with bottom loop parallel to ground. Top bar must be directly above bottom bar, minimum 6.5 inches apart, measured center to center.

  14. TIRES/WHEEL: Must use unaltered (no grooving or siping) American Racer (G-60 KK704) or IMCA approved Hoosier G-60's. No softening, conditioning, siping or grooving of tires. Aluminum or steel spacers only. External, steel bead lock only and it cannot make wheel any narrower than 8 inches and no wider than 8.75 inches. Must use only steel bolts. May only use 8" (maximum) steel wheels.

  15. BRAKES. Must be steel approved OEM, operative four wheel, drum or disc. Must maintain minimum OEM dimensions for hubs/rotors and calipers, cannot be lightened. Bolt pattern may be changed. Larger studs allowed. Rear rotors may be aftermarket, minimum .810 inch thickness. Vented rotors only, no scalloped rotors. No brake shut-off or pressure sensitive devices. One proportioning device allowed, front to rear only. Brake lines must be visible.

  16. EXHAUST. Round tube headers only. All primary header tubes must enter directly into one collector, at same point, at end of header. Mufflers or a similar type of exhaust sound muffling device is required. 100 decibels @100 feet.

  17. FUEL SYSTEM. Mechanical or belt driven fuel pump only. Racing fuel cell required, maximum 32 gallon capacity, must be in minimum 18 gauge steel container. Cell must be securely mounted behind rear axle, between rear tires, minimum of four inches ahead of bumper, minimum of ten inches above ground. Must mount with minimum two solid steel straps around entire cell, two inches wide and .125 inch thick. All cell mounts must be steel, securely welded to frame/cage. Protective tubing must cover rear and extend past both sides of cell. No part of cell shall be lower than protective tubing. Fuel cell vents, including cap vent, must have check valves. Pick-up must be on top or right side of cell. Limit of one fuel filter. No cool cans. One naturally aspirated two or four barrel carburetor only. No adjustable throttle bore carburetor spacers.

  18. FUEL. Gasoline or alcohol. Racing fuel allowed. No performance enhancing additives. Upper cylinder lube allowed with alcohol only.

  19. WEIGHT. Minimum weight limit of 2,450 pounds, no tolerance, after race with driver in car. No weights and/or loose objects in driver compartment or outside of body. Weights must be securely mounted to frame or roll cage and painted white with car number on it. Must be attached with at least two .5 inch bolts. No titanium, magnesium or carbon fiber products. No gun-drilled, tubular, hollow bolts or studs. Steel fasteners only.

  20. BATTERY/STARTER. One 12 bolt battery only, must be securely mounted between frame rails, and positive terminal must be covered. Car must have capability of starting without being pushed or pulled. Car must leave initial staging area on demand, unaided, or go to rear of that race. See transmission rules for specifics.

  21. GAUGES/ELECTRONICS: No transmitting or listening devices, timing retard controls, or digital gauges (including tach). No electronic monitoring computer devices capable of storing or transmitting information except analog tach. No adjustable ignition control boxes. One 12 volt ignition box allowed, must be out of driver's reach. No additional ignition accessories allowed. Only change allowed to ignition box is one high-end rev-limiter setting. This setting can be changed through one chip only, or an internal setting inside box. No magnetos. No electronic traction control devices.

  22. TRACTION CONTROL.

    1. Use of any type of "traction control" is absolutely forbidden at any race at Winchester Speedway. For purpose of clarity, "traction control" shall refer to any device, controlled by mechanical, electrical, and/or computer controlled, either by in car, attached to car, or by a remote means. No data gathering or recording devices. No cockpit or driver controlled ignition timing or fuel delivery devices.

    2. Track officials may inspect any car they suspect could be benefiting from the use of "traction control" devices at any time. Driver/crew of car called to be inspected are expected to cooperate (in a sportsmanlike manner) with inspectors; and may be required to jack up car, remove wheels, panels/covers, and install jackstands to make safe the inspection process. Failure to cooperate with inspectors will be considered an indictment of guilt on the participant's part, and the participant will be found in violation of this rule. No exceptions. No follow up inspection for this violation.

    3. Winchester Speedway officials maintain the right to confiscate any part/s they suspect as "traction control" from any car, at any time, for as long as it would be necessary to determine if said part/s is or is not classified as an illegal "traction control" device. If device is found to be legal, device will be returned as soon as practicable to owner. If part/s are found to be "illegal", part/s are sacrificed to Winchester Speedway.

    4. Competitor (driver) whose car "illegal" part/s were found shall be found in violation of Winchester Speedway rules and will sacrifice any points accumulated to date that season. In addition, competitor (driver) shall not be eligible for competition for the remainder of the current season.

    5. This inspection is not included in the protest procedure.

    6. Winchester Speedway is not required to post $100 to perform this inspection on any competitor's car.

  23. TRANSMISSION/DRIVESHAFT. Bert or Brinn transmissions OK. Drive Shaft: minimum two inch diameter steel drive shaft and must be painted white. Steel slip-yokes only. 360 degree drive shaft loop required and must be constructed of at least .25 inch by two inch steel, or one inch tubing, mounted six inches back from front U-Joint.

  24. ENGINE COMPARTMENT. Rear of engine (bellhousing flange) must be mounted at least 72 inches forward from centerline of rear axle. Engine offset must be kept within two inches of centerline of front crossmember with engine level. Minimum 11 inch engine height from ground to center of crankshaft. Radiator must be mounted in front of engine. Cooling system may be modified. Overflow tubes must be directed to ground between frame rails.

  25. ENGINE SPECIFICATIONS. Any American make engine allowed. Steel block and oil pan only. Aluminum heads OK with 50 lbs added in front of firewall (25 lbs left and 25 lbs right). OEM firing order cannot be changed. No crank triggers. All engines must be able to be used in conventional passenger car without alterations. Engine mounts cannot be removed or altered. Castings and fittings must not be changed. No machine work on outside of engine. Aftermarket blocks allowed. No motor claim rule.

 

 

 

Outlaw Pony

  1. Rear wheel drive compact four cylinder cars, trucks and station wagons allowed.
  2. 99 inch minimum wheel base.
  3. Engine – 2550cc maximum.
  4. Head:
    1. Factory head only. No porting and polishing. 2 valves per cylinder. Valves must be stock diameter. Diameter of valves shall not exceed the following; tolerance of .010:

  3. Tires – racing tires allowed.
  4. Wheels – 10” steel wheels maximum. Racers having 8” wheels with 8” tires maximum may drop 100 lbs.
  5. Any type body. Must have tow hooks front and rear.
  6. No sport cars or front wheel drive.
  7. Fuel – any, no nitrous.
  8. Must have stock frame, front and rear, snout may be tied together if car has sub-frame. Snout car must add 100 lbs. Tube frames allowed. Add 150 lbs for tube frames. No bird cages.

Modified Street

  1. Wheel base – Minimum of 108”.
  2. Suspension – stock, wedge bolts allowed. After market top A-frame allowed. Lower A-frame must be stock. No wrap shock, no pull bars allowed on rear ends. Adjustable upper rear control arms are allowed. Lower rear control arms must be stock and cannot be adjustable.
  3. Engine.
    1. Block - aftermarket blocks OK. No aluminum blocks. Must be steel.
    2. Small Block – maximum 408 cid.
    3. Bore - +0.60 maximum.
    4. Stroke – any stroke.
    5. Crankshaft may be aftermarket, but no lightweight.
    6. Any steel rod.
    7. Pistons – flat top or dished only. Any aftermarket. Must not come above the deck.
    8. Camshaft – flat tappet cam only. No rollers and no mushroom cams.
    9. Carburetor. Any 2 barrel or 4 barrel.
    10. Any 4 barrel intake.
    11. Heads. Any steel 23 degree head.
    12. May be aftermarket valves. Steel only. No porting, polishing, grinding, etc. May have pinned or screw in studs and guide plates. Stud girdles permitted. Roller rockers permitted.
    13. Three angle valve job permitted.
    14. Ignition. Any ignition. MSD ignition legal.
    15. Rings, Rod, and Main Bearings, Oil Pumps, Cam and Lifters, Valves, Valve Springs, Gaskets, Plugs, Plug wires, Push Rods, Bolts, Nuts, etc. may be aftermarket. May run aftermarket oil pans.
    16. Gasoline only! (No alcohol)
    17. Engine mount position – The number one spark plug must be visibly even with the ball joint or in front of it.
  4. Rear End – Locked rear ends permitted. Any factory type rear end. May be floated axle. May use rear disc, calipers must be factory. (Example: front GM can be used on rear) Rotors and hats must be steel.
  5. Transmission – straight shift legal. Must have all gears and be produced by manufacturer of car. Automatics must have working torque converter. Any functional torque converter. No Bert transmissions. Must have steel blow proof bell housing.
  6. Any Clutch. May be aftermarket.
  7. Shocks – racing shocks permitted. May be relocated. No coilovers.
  8. Safety Hub – recommended RF only.
  9. Wheels – any 8, 10, or 12 inch wheel allowed. Beadlocks allowed. No wide five hubs allowed. 10 or 12 inch aluminum wheels must add 50 lbs.
  10. Tires –  Any tire allowed.
  11. Bodies – Any body is allowed. Floor pan and front firewall in driver’s compartment must be steel, no aluminum.. Unibody cars must leave floor pan attached if the suspension mounts to the floorpan to maintain stock location. Trunk area may be removed. NO JACK PEGS OUTSIDE THE BODY SKIN!
    1. Snout cars are allowed in this class. Add 200 lbs. Rack & Pinion is allowed. Must add 25 lbs to the engine compartment if running rack & pinion. A snout car is defined as any car that does not have the full stock chassis (Example includes stock front chassis tied to a manufactured chassis from the firewall back). Leaf springs required on rear suspension for snout cars only. Sliders OK on leaf springs, but only rear sliders. Front sliders are illegal.
    2. Spoiler - 8" max height with a maximum of 3 supports.
    3. Cars must have the claimed weight painted on the left front fender. Failure to do so will require that racer to carry the maximum class weight.
  12. Weight. small block – 3000 lbs. and all big blocks – 3300 lbs.
  13. Fuel tanks. A mandatory firewall between the driver and fuel tank.
  14. Headers – legal.
  15. Frame section in front of A frame mount and behind rear suspension mounts may be replaced with tubing due to rust or excessive damage.
  16. All glass and flammable parts must be removed.
  17. Roll bars – all cars must have a 4 point roll cage. 4 bars on driver’s side, 2 in passenger side, no less than 1 ½” OD black pipe minimum.
  18. 1” diameter lug nuts minimum. Must have 5 lug studs and lug nuts per wheel.
  19. Must have working fire extinguisher, driver fire suit, helmet with shield and must have safety belts.

Mini Stock

 

  1. Body:
    1. Rear wheel drive compact four cylinder cars, trucks and station wagons allowed.
    2. Must be stock appearing.
    3. Must have full stock body, firewall and floorpan. Replacement sheet metal panels OK as long as maintaining stock appearance.
    4. Must have tow hooks, front/rear.
  2. Engines:
    1. Must match make of car and be in original position and powered by gasoline only.
    2. Hydraulic cams and lifters only.
    3. Lower end stock only, =.060 allowed. Must be stock cast replacement piston or hypereutectic type piston only. No forged or lightweight pistons or pins. No lightening of crankshaft. 5.4 length stock 4 cylinder rod is legal. Must not come above the deck.
    4. No high performance parts permitted unless otherwise stated.
    5. No roller rocker arms.
    6. Cranking compression – 180# average with 0 tolerance. Will be checked with all plugs removed and throttle wide open until needle stops. If battery appears weak, charger may be attached.
    7. May run aftermarket pulleys, cam and crank.
    8. Stock oil pan. Racing pan and windage tray allowed – add 25 lbs.
    9. Ignition: Stock ignition only. No MSD.
  3. Heads:
    1. Factory steel head only. No porting or polishing.
    2. Valves must be stock diameter and length for head being run. A tolerance of +0.010 will be allowed.
    3. Valve job shall not exceed Ύ” from bottom of valve seat to bottom of cut.
  4. Intake/Carb:
    1. Stock carburetor, intake only. No polishing, porting, or modifying.
    2. Any 2 Barrel carburetor. Carb must have choke horn and part number.
  5. Exhaust – Headers allowed.
  6. Flywheel/Clutch:
    1. Stock clutch, pressure plate, and flywheel.
    2. Flywheel must weigh a minimum of 14 lbs.
  7. Tires/Wheels:
    1. Wheels – 7” steel wheel only. Beadlock OK on right rear only.
    2. Tires – No racing or recapped tires. 7” maximum.
  8. Suspension – racing shocks permitted. All parts must be stock in original position. Rear axle may be locked.
  9. Weight – Must be painted on left front fender. Failing to do so means you carry maximum weight after race.

  10. General – Stock parts, stock position.
  11. Must have working fire extinguisher, driver fire suit, helmet with shield and must have safety belts.

  14. Competition Rule – the winner of the feature will have to start in the rear of their heat race the next week.

Pure Stock

 

  1. This is an entry level division. These rules are intended to keep it affordable.
  2. No high performance parts allowed except as stated.
  3. Minimum wheel base is 108 inches.
  4. Stock suspension. Tube upper A-frames allowed on front. Lower control arms must be stock. Rear control arms must be stock and in factory location. Bushings may be aftermarket. No wrap shocks or pull bars allowed on rear ends. May shorten rear upper control arms for pinion angle.
  5. Engine – Bore and Stroke - Chevy 350ci, Ford 351ci, Dodge 360ci.
    1. Stock bore - +.060 maximum.
    2. Stroke – stock for CID of engine. Crankshaft must be stock No aftermarket allowed.
    3. Rods: must be factory & stock length for CID of engine.
    4. Pistons: flat top or dished only. Cast or hypereutectic only. No forged pistons. Must be .010 in the hole minimum. 
    5. Camshaft: hydraulic flat tappet cam only. No solid lifter cams. Stock rockers only. No roller or roller tip. No stud girdles.
    6. Carburetor: 600 cfm Holley only. Must have choke horn and part numbers. No porting or polishing. (Keep these carbs low dollar please) Single line feed carbs only. May have rear metering block installed.
    7. Intake: Stock Quadra jet only, cast or aluminum must have casting number. No cutting or grinding. Max 1” adapter or spacer plate. No factory high performance intakes. No bow tie intakes.
    8. Compression: 150# maximum. Will be checked with all plugs removed and throttle wide open until needle stops. If battery appears weak, charger may be attached.
    9. Heads: Stock heads 76cc open chamber only. Must be stock diameter valves for CID of engine. Small Block Chevy 1.940 intake, 1.500 exhaust. Small block Ford 1.840 intake, 1.500 exhaust. May be aftermarket valves: steel only. Valve springs must be stock diameter. No porting, polishing, grinding, etc. May have screw in studs. May run poly locks. No Vortec heads, no double hump heads, no aftermarket heads.  Three angle valve job permitted. NO EXCESSIVE MILLING !!!!!!! 
    10. Ignition – Stock or replacement type HEI distributor only.  No MSD boxes allowed.
    11. Rings, Rod & Main Bearings, Oil pumps, Cam and Lifters, Valves, valve springs, gaskets, plugs, plug wires, push rods, bolts, nuts, etc. may be aftermarket.
    12. May run aftermarket oil pans
    13. Engine must be in the stock location.
    14. Steering – Stock power steering pump, gear box & steering linkage. May have tube steering shaft with removable wheel.
  6. Rear End – locked rear ends permitted. Must be stock make for car. Chevy in Chevy, Ford in ford etc. Axles may be aftermarket. May change wheel studs to 1/2". No floaters allowed.
  7. Transmission – straight shift legal. Must have all gears and be produced by manufacturer of car. Automatics must have working torque converter. Any functional torque converter.
  8. Clutch, pressure plate, and flywheel must be steel factory type only. No modifications. 10 ½” minimum diameter clutch. No racing clutches.
  9. Shocks – Must be stock type in stock location; or jack screws and racing shocks must add 50 lbs.
  10. Springs - May be aftermarket, must be mounted in factory location.
  11. Safety Hub – recommended on right front wheel.
  12. Wheels – Any 8” steel wheel. NO Bead Locks.
  13. Tires – no racing or recapped tires. 275 x 60 maximum allowable.
  14. Bodies – must be full bodied cars or trucks. May use aftermarket nose & tail piece. Must have stock floor pan and front firewall. Floor pan must remain intact front to rear. No gutting of body in interior compartment except doors for roll cage roll bars. Trunk area may be removed. NO JACK PEGS OUTSIDE THE BODY SKIN! A maximum spoiler of 8” in height with a max of 3 supports will be allowed. Rear of car must be enclosed.
  15. Frame – Must be stock unaltered. May be replaced behind rear suspension mounts with tubing due to rust or excessive damage.
  16. Battery must be mounted in an enclosed box behind the driver if in interior compartment.
  17. Bumpers – Must have stock type or tube type behind nose & tail piece.
  18. Weight – 3300 lbs. 
  19. Fuel tanks – Fuel cells mandatory, must have firewall between driver and fuel cell. Must be mounted securely with two 1” straps each way.
  20. Pedals – May use aftermarket clutch and brake pedals & cylinders for straight shift. (RACING GAS PEDAL & LINKAGE RECOMMENDED)
  21. Headers – Legal. No over the motor or 180 degree headers allowed.
  22. All glass and flammable parts must be removed.
  23. Roll bars – All cars must have a 4 point roll cage. 4 bars on driver’s side, 2 in passenger side. Must be 1 Ύ” tubing. May be connected front to rear.
  24. 1” diameter lug nuts minimum. Must have 5 lug studs and lug nuts per wheel.
  25. Safety - must have working fire extinguisher, driver fire suit, helmet with shield, racing seat and safety belts. Must have drive shaft safety loop.
  26. Camaros are allowed in this class. Must be stock floor pan front to rear, stock firewall, and stock frame. May be tied together (Unibody). No adjustable lowering blocks or sliders allowed.
  27. Mufflers or a similar type of engine exhaust/sound muffling device is required.
  28. Tear down rule is in effect for this class. Follow protest procedures.
  29. Competition Rule – the winner of the feature will have to start in the rear of their heat race the next week.
  30. Anything not covered must have approval by track officials.
  31. After you win 2 championships in this division, you will no longer be eligible to compete in this division. 

 

 

 

FRONT WHEEL DRIVE/4 CYLINDER COMPACT

  1. This is intended to be a novice/beginner level class with no points. It is also intended to be a fun class.
  2. There will be no heat races in this division. Line up for the feature will be determined by the draw. The track officials will determine which direction on the track the race will be run each week. This class will run last each night. As long as there is time, there will be no time limit on this class.
  3. Body – completely stock, front to rear, front wheel drive, compact cars only. All glass, chrome, plastic, etc. must be removed. Must have four steel bars welded directly in front of driver windshield opening. Must have seat belt and shoulder harness minimum 3” wide. Must have a four point cage and one door bar on driver’s side.
  4. Wheels and tires – O.E.M. tires and wheels only. Maximum tire size is 205/60/R15.
  5. Suspension and steering – stock, original, O.E.M. – no modification, no exceptions.
  6. Engine – pure stock O.E.M. four cylinder, 12 valve head and 16 valve – no modifications- no V-Tech.
  7. Fuel – pump gas only.
  8. Transmission – O.E.M. only. Must use the same transmission the car was manufactured with.
  9. Rear End – O.E.M. only.
  10. All cars must have legible numbers on the right and left side and top of car of contrasting color to the body of the car. No duct tape numbers or spray painted numbers. This is to ensure that you are scored correctly.
  11. Must have chains fastened securely to front and back of car for lifting and towing.
  12. Anything not mentioned must remain stock! This is a low dollar class and we will keep it that way.
  13. Front wheel drive class will have an exchange rule. $500 to exchange complete car. Claimer must be on the lead lap and finish in the top five. Only the winner can be claimed. Refusal to exchange will result in a $100 penalty and two week suspension. A driver can only be claimed once per year.
